Documentary along with 2D Animation
About Project
This was an intensive personal documentary project exploring the life, vision, and impact of Mark Zuckerberg. Beyond standard editing and narrative construction, the core feature of this piece was the integration of a custom-written and performed voiceover with high-quality 2D animation and complex motion graphics. The goal was to transform archival footage and analytical material into a visually dynamic, engaging, and authoritative narrative, moving far beyond a standard video essay format.

Challenges
The most demanding aspect was synthesizing a complex subject into a cohesive narrative while maintaining a high standard of visual execution across multiple mediums.
Visual Consistency: Ensuring a seamless visual flow between the live-action footage, abstract motion graphics, and detailed 2D character/explainer animation required meticulous planning and a unified style guide.
Narrative Ownership: Delivering a compelling and professional voiceover that commanded attention while maintaining objective authority required multiple takes and focused sound engineering to match the documentary’s high production value.
Data Visualization: Converting complex business metrics, user statistics, or historical timelines into digestible, visually engaging motion graphics without oversimplifying the subject matter was a significant technical hurdle.
MY APPROACH
The entire visual plan (including animation and motion graphics) was rigorously storyboarded against the voiceover script before any production began, ensuring every word was supported by a corresponding high-impact visual element. 2D animation was utilized not just for illustrative purposes, but to create stylized, custom sequences that dramatically clarified abstract concepts or added emotional weight to key biographical moments.
